Trees For Survival day

On Thursday 23rd of August 2017, Room 15 and a class from Pukete School completed a project called Trees For Survival.
We planted the trees because they help New Zealand grow and supply the land with fresh oxygen, but most of all, it helps stop water pollution in the Waikato River as the roots of the plants stablise the soil.
The staff from fonterra showed how we should plant like green fingers.
Before we had to put the plant in the hole, we had to make sure a little tablet was in that hole. This 'tablet' acts as a fertilizer for the plants to make them grow fast, strong, and overall better for the environment. We had to make sure to carefully take the plant out of the bag, then level the stalk with the ground.
Everyone had to check that it wouldn't pull out, so we had to stomp the loose dirt around the plant so it could get a better grip onto the soil.
Room 15 and Pukete had to plant about 600 plants around the Fonterra factory.

My speech reflection

On the 7th of June 2017 i had to present my speech to my whole class.
I waited for my name to be chosen on the slot machine that had tons of names.
Luckily, i was first on the list!
Miss Wyllie chose some people to do a assessment on me, and i started to prepare to talk about my speech.
I was not very nervous, as my audience knew from last year i was extremely prepared for what i was going to do.
I liked the part where i said: "There was a cockroach on the floor!". Everybody looked, and then after i said that there actually wasn't.
I think i could of made my speech shorter, as the recommended length was 2-3 minutes.Mine was 4 minutes.
Everyone enjoyed my speech and i think i was very proud of myself, because i had a natural stance and a good expression.
After 4 minutes of speaking, I was relieved that i wouldn't do it again, other than if i had to do it in the semi finals WHEW! I was done with my speech, everybody enjoyed it and I did too.
If you didn't know my speech was about boredom, and I talked about many different topics and how hard it was to find a good topic at home, it was such a pain.

Poem poetry week

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Nightmares creep me out
and so do you!

I like this poem because it is funny and can motivate more people to make poems.

Tabloid sports reflection

On the 20th of february 2017, I attended tabloid sports.

My favourite activity is the animal throwing were you throw bean bags but they are shaped like animals. You had to score points and to get points you had to throw the little animals at the specific place and score points from 1-2-3-4-5.

My second favorite activity is the sponge race where we had to grab wet sponges and make it so we had to transport the water from the pink bucket all the way to the green bucket.

My third favourite activity was a collaboration activity where we had to grab an ice cream box filled with water and then we place it on a wooden piece with ropes tied to it.Then we had 4 team members to grab one side of the rope and transport it to the bucket. To win you needed to fill the bucket with water. Thanks for reading my reflection on tabloid sports!

2017 Term 1 week 2 reflection

What i found interesting so far: Our puzzle art as we had to blend colours and decorate our puzzle piece.

What i found challenging: The brain teasers because it made me think why are these specific words are there and why are they in that specific order.

What i am looking forward to: Starting official subjects like Maths, Writing and Reading and home learning.

What am i going to do with term 4?

Term 4, a term with many choices to choose from like, being a school council, be a road patroller, or maybe even a trained milk monitor.
In term 4 i want to achieve the title of the school council, and help everyone cross the road safely without harm, and hand out milk to people so they can keep their muscles and bones strong!
With these 3 helpful achievements i can help people in any way i can, even if i have to take on something huge.
How do i achieve these titles?
Well, one member of the school council, Oliver, has been very good this year, accepting even the problems he doesn't like solving overall, i wish to walk that path and achieve the title he has.
i always look to him for help, otherwise, i shall politely ask Miss Wyllie, so she can tell me what to do, and if i cant understand, i always think for a minute or two to help me understand.
Milk monitor?
I always like to have milk, as it is cold and tasty.
It shall be my bone hardener and make my muscles stronger, and i wish to help the milk monitors, and sometimes i can, as it is fun and beneficial.

My Cross Country experience

On the 30th of August 2016 Room 15 went out to the field to participate in Cross Country, we had a breath-taking experience on the field.
Room 15 ran and ran around the field, above is a picture of me running/finishing a lap.
I felt like i was going to faint at the end!
My mother told me i came around 10th place, and there was about 20 people running at the same time.
The 9 year olds have to run 4 laps, 10 years old 5 laps, 11 year olds 6 laps.
I loved how everyone tried even if they didn't want to run around the field.
Sadly, we couldn't go to Minogue Park to run there because we needed much, much more parent help to help us walk there.
